Author Instructions

IPIN 2017 has only one stage submission and peer review process. All papers will be reviewed and if accepted authors must consider possible corrections in the final submission. Authors can consider two types of submissions:

Manuscripts must be submitted electronically in PDF format. This conference has adopted single-blind review system; the papers are reviewed by multiple reviewers ensuring the fairness. Authors are supposed to submit papers with the author names and affiliations printed on the front pages. All the accepted papers will be included in the conference proceedings. Additionally, regular papers presented at the conference will be also submitted to IEEE Xplore Digital Library. Best papers will be awarded during the conference.

Paper Templates

All papers must be written in English according to the submission template and formatting guidelines. For typesetting your paper you must use our IEEE template in Word format. You may also download this template in Word or LaTeX format from the IEEE website provided that you add the conference header to each page of your paper.

Final Camera Ready Paper

After a paper is accepted, minor revisions may be requested. All papers, regular and WIP, will be included in the conference proceedings. Regular papers presented at the conference will be submitted to IEEE Xplore Digital Library.

All accepted papers must fully comply with the IEEE conference format for the final camera ready submission. Use the IEEE PDF eXpress check to make sure of that compatibility. The access to IEEE PDF eXpress is already available. Papers that fail that check or exceed the referred submissions page limits may be rejected without further review.

Authors must prepare the final manuscript and submit it according to the following guidelines (they are described below):

1. Preparing the final camera-ready version

The Technical Program Committee has made an effort to thoroughly review all the submitted papers. Please follow their suggestions when you revise your paper. You should verify that your camera-ready paper complies with the IEEE format. The IEEE conference paper template can be downloaded from here. All authors must submit their final camera-ready papers by the deadlines even if there are no changes to the paper. Failure to do so may result in the paper not appearing in the proceedings.

2. Embedding the Copyright Clearance Code (CCC) Notice

The appropriate Copyright Clearance Code notice is to appear as a footnote on the bottom of the first page of each paper according to the guidelines set forth in the Cataloging/Copyright Instructions for an IEEE Conference Proceeding. Detailed instructions can be found at: http://www.ieee.org/publications_standards/publications/rights/index.html.

In the MS Word template you may replace the text in the existing footnote where it says "Identify applicable sponsor/s here. If no sponsors, delete this text box (sponsors)." with the appropriate Copyright Clearance Code (CCC) notice.

For LaTeX users:

3. Validating the PDF file through PDF eXpress

Your camera-ready manuscript should be converted into a PDF file and verified for Xplore compliance by IEEE PDF eXpress. Go to http://www.pdf-express.org/ and convert your file to an IEEE Xplore compatible PDF file or check your PDF file for IEEE Xplore compliance. First-time users should do the following:

Previous users of PDF eXpress need to follow the above steps, but should enter the same password that was used for previous conferences. Verify that your contact information is valid. You will receive an email receipt indicating that your camera-ready paper is PDF compatible.

4. IEEE Copyright © Form

IEEE policy requires that prior to publication all authors or their employers must transfer to the IEEE in writing any copyright they hold for their individual papers. Transferring copyright is a necessary requirement for publication, except for material in the public domain or which is reprinted with permission from a previously published, copyrighted publication. Upon transferring copyright to IEEE, authors and/or their companies have the right to post their IEEE-copyrighted material on their own servers without permission, provided that the server displays a prominent notice alerting readers to their obligations with respect to copyrighted material and that the posted work includes an IEEE copyright notice.

After a paper is accepted, you must obtain the IEEE copyright form, fill in the form, sign it and submit it to the submission system together with the final camera ready paper. The copyright form can be obtained from http://www.ieee.org/documents/ieeecopyrightform.pdf. In "IEEE Publication Title (Journal, Magazine, Conference, Book):" please write "2017 International Conference on Indoor Positioning and Indoor Navigation (IPIN)".

Detailed instructions can be found at: http://www.ieee.org/publications_standards/publications/rights/index.html.

5. Submitting the final camera-ready manuscript

Once you have followed (and completed) the previous guidelines, you can upload your final manuscript and the copyright form the conference submission site.

6. Work-in-Progress Papers

To Submit the camera-ready version of a Work-in-Progress WiS paper you can follow a similar prosess to regular papers, except for the copyright notifications.

  1. A copyright note of
    © IPIN2017
have to appear as a footnote on the front page of each WiS paper. The copyright symbol can be spelled out "Copyright: ".
  2. Submission of an IPIN copyright transfer form is required instead of an IEEE copyright form.
