CALL FOR SPECIAL SESSIONS
ACCEPTED SPECIAL SESSIONS
So far, the following proposals for special sessions have been accepted:
- Indoor/outdoor seamless PNT with GNSS and multi-source sensors
- Advanced Fusion Technologies Based on Heterogeneous Data for Indoor Positioning
- The Open Research Data Way: Replication Studies, Efficient Data Reuse and Metaresearch
- Non-linear and non-Gaussian Sensor Fusion
- Machine Learning For Localization And Navigation
INTRODUCTION
Location information is critical to many emerging location-based applications in indoor environments. While GNSS technology dominates outdoors, no standard and straightforward solution yet exists indoors, i.e., accurate and economic enough for the mass market. First launched in 2010 in Zurich, Switzerland, Indoor Positioning and Indoor Navigation (IPIN) is a prestigious event dedicated to indoor localization, its applications, and its development. Over the years, IPIN has been an excellent global forum for researchers, developers, and service providers in indoor positioning and navigation, attracting experts from diverse disciplines, such as computer science, electronics, robotics, aerospace, and surveying, to address this challenge. The 14th edition of the IPIN Conference and the 11th IPIN Competition will be held in Hong Kong, China, an international and vibrant city where Eastern and Western cultures blend. IPIN has an excellent track record over the years for organizing Special Sessions in new or emerging areas. This year as well we are seeking innovative, high-quality and potentially interdisciplinary proposals for Special Sessions that complement the regular program of the conference. Special Sessions should be focused and provide both, an overview of the state-of-the-art, as well as highlight the most promising research directions, trends and challenges in the scope of the conference. Proposals will be evaluated based on topic novelty and associated impact and are subject to rolling acceptance, i.e., same topics are dealt with “first come first serve”. Special session papers submissions at IPIN are reviewed via the same exact process as submissions to the regular program, and papers are expected to meet the same quality standards.
