Submission Instructions
Paper submission
Manuscripts must be submitted on the IPIN 2021 submission page according to the following instructions and the deadlines shown in the side box. Deadlines are intended at 23:59 AoE.
IPIN 2021 has a single-stage submission and peer review process with two types of submissions:
- Regular Papers: max 8 IEEE pages, oral presentation is required
- Work-in-Progress (WiP): between 5-16 CEUR-WS single-column pages, poster presentation is required, oral presentation may be required
Word and LaTex Templates are available for IEEE format and CEUR-WS format .
Papers undergo a single-blind review process by at least two reviewers. Accepted regular papers are submitted to IEEE Xplore Digital Library, while accepted WiP papers are submitted to CEUR-WS.org, which is currently indexed by Scopus, Ei Compendex and DBLP.
After a paper is accepted, minor revisions may be requested; if this is the case, authors are required to apply them for the final camera ready submission.
Important
- Papers in excess of 2 papers per full author registration are not included in the conference proceedings
- Regular papers whose authors do not show up at the conference are removed from the IEEE Xplore Digital Library
- Work-in-Progress papers whose authors do not show up at the conference are removed from the CEUR-WS.org database
Preparing your camera-ready Regular Paper
Regular papers must be submitted electronically in PDF format. They must be written in English according to the IEEE submission template and formatting guidelines, must include author names and affiliations on the front page and the conference header on all pages.
Accepted papers must fully comply with the IEEE conference format for the final camera-ready submission. To ensure compliance, PDF manuscripts must pass the check against IEEE PDF eXpress. Papers that fail the check or exceed the 8 page limit may be rejected without further review.
Here is a checklist for submitting your camera-ready Regular Paper manuscript:
- Modify your manuscript (if necessary) following the reviewers' recommendations
- Check that your paper is no longer than 8 pages
- Check that you are using A4 page size
- Apply the instructions for adding the conference header
- Apply the instructions for embedding the Copyright Clearance Code (CCC) notice
- Do not apply page numbers
- Go to the final submission page : you will find instructions to create the IEEE copyright form and check your paper through the IEEE PDF eXpress service
- Upload the completed copyright form and the checked paper
Adding the conference header
The conference header should appear on all pages. The text is as follows, on a single centred line:
2021 International Conference on Indoor Positioning and Indoor Navigation (IPIN), 29 Nov. - 2 Dec. 2021, Lloret de Mar, Spain
For LaTeX users:
- Be sure to use the conference class:
\documentclass[conference,a4paper]{IEEEtran}
- Add the following code near the top of the LaTeX source, before
\begin{document}
:\makeatletter \let\old@ps@headings\ps@headings \let\old@ps@IEEEtitlepagestyle\ps@IEEEtitlepagestyle \def\confheader#1{% % for all pages except the first \def\ps@headings{% \old@ps@headings% \def\@oddhead{\strut\hfill#1\hfill\strut}% \def\@evenhead{\strut\hfill#1\hfill\strut}% }% % for the first page \def\ps@IEEEtitlepagestyle{% \old@ps@IEEEtitlepagestyle% \def\@oddhead{\strut\hfill#1\hfill\strut}% \def\@evenhead{\strut\hfill#1\hfill\strut}% }% \ps@headings% } \makeatother \confheader{% 2021 International Conference on Indoor Positioning and Indoor Navigation (IPIN), 29 Nov. -- 2 Dec. 2021, Lloret de Mar, Spain}
Embedding the Copyright Clearance Code (CCC) Notice
The appropriate Copyright Clearance Code notice is to appear as a footnote on the bottom of the first page of each paper according to the guidelines set forth in the Cataloging/Copyright Instructions for an IEEE Conference Proceeding.
- For papers in which all authors are employed by the US government, the copyright notice is: U.S. Government work not protected by U.S. copyright
- For papers in which all authors are employed by a Crown government (UK, Canada, and Australia), the copyright notice is: 978-1-6654-0402-0/21/$31.00 ©2021 Crown
- For papers in which all authors are employed by the European Union, the copyright notice is: 978-1-6654-0402-0/21/$31.00 ©2021 European Union
- For all other papers the copyright notice is: 978-1-6654-0402-0/21/$31.00 ©2021 IEEE
In the MS Word template you may replace the text in the existing footnote where it says "Identify applicable sponsor/s here. If no sponsors, delete this text box (sponsors)." with the appropriate Copyright Clearance Code (CCC) notice.
For LaTeX users:
- Use the conference document class from the IEEEtran package
- Add the CCC notice in the \IEEEpubid{} command. Copy this code instead of the one
available in the template:
Where\IEEEoverridecommandlockouts \IEEEpubid{\makebox[\columnwidth] {\hfill X-X-XXXX-XXXXX/XX/\$XX.XX~\copyright~2021 IEEE} \hspace{\columnsep}\makebox[\columnwidth]{ }}
X-X-XXXX-XXXX-X/XX/\$XX.XX~\copyright~2021 IEEE
should be substituted by the appropriate CCC indicated above. - Add the sponsors, if needed, in the \thanks{} command of the authors definition.
Preparing your camera-ready Work-in-Progress paper
WiP papers are submitted to CEUR-WS.org, which is currently indexed by Scopus, Ei Compendex and DBLP. You should ensure that you follow the CEUR-WS format when preparing and uploading the final camera-ready version of your submission. Your paper should be no less than 5 and no more than 16 pages long in A4 format.
Here is a checklist for submitting your camera-ready Work-in-Progress manuscript:

- On the final submission page upload the completed copyright transfer form and the paper
Add the Conference details
The conference details should appear on the first page. The text is as follows:

For LaTeX users:
- Use the specific command to include the conferece details:
%% This command is for the conference information
\conference{IPIN 2021 WiP Proceedings, November 29 -- December 2, 2021, Lloret de Mar, Spain}
