Embedding the Copyright Clearance Code (CCC) Notice

The appropriate Copyright Clearance Code notice is to appear as a footnote on the bottom of the first page of each paper according to the guidelines set forth in the Cataloging/Copyright Instructions for an IEEE Conference Proceeding.

  • For papers in which all authors are employed by the US government, the copyright notice is: U.S. Government work not protected by U.S. copyright.
  • For papers in which all authors are employed by a Crown government (UK, Canada, and Australia), the copyright notice is: 978-1-7281-1788-1/19/$31.00 ©2019 Crown.
  • For papers in which all authors are employed by the European Union, the copyright notice is: 978-1-7281-1788-1/19/$31.00 ©2019 European Union.
  • For all other papers the copyright notice is: 978-1-7281-1788-1/19/$31.00 ©2019 IEEE.

In the MS Word template you may replace the text in the existing footnote where it says "Identify applicable sponsor/s here. If no sponsors, delete this text box (sponsors)." with the appropriate Copyright Clearance Code (CCC) notice.

For LaTeX users:
  • Use the conference document class from the IEEEtran package
  • Add the CCC notice in the \IEEEpubid{} command. Copy this code instead of the one available in the template:

    \IEEEoverridecommandlockouts
    \IEEEpubid{\makebox[\columnwidth]
    {\hfill X-X-XXXX-XXXXX/XX/\$XX.XX~\copyright~2019 IEEE}
    \hspace{\columnsep}\makebox[\columnwidth]{ }}

    Where X-X-XXXX-XXXX-X/XX/\$XX.XX~\copyright~2019 IEEE should be substituted by the appropriate CCC indicated above.
  • Add the sponsors, if needed, in the \thanks{} command of the authors definition.
