Call for Measurements

    Last Update
  • 13/Dec/2022

A novelty of this years IPIN will be the unique opportunity to execute your own measurement campaign in the Fraunhofer IIS Test- & Applications Center L.I.N.K. including several options for reference systems like MoCap (Qualisys, full body skeletal tracking possible, accuracy < ~1 cm) with optional synchronized IMU (Cometa), infrared laser (Nikon iGPS, < ~1 mm) and placement systems like a 3D large volume robotic system (proprietary) for repeated measurements, an intra logistics robot (Evo Cortex) or human participants. More details can be found at the L.I.N.K. website. As synchronization is an important topic for reference measurements, the following options are given in the location: MoCap with PTP server or/and RGB camera, NTP server.

Measurement examples can be found in the following repository .

Schedule of Measurements

There are up to four measurement slots available on two days. Each measurement slot is planned to be around 4 hours including estimated times of two hours of preparation until all equipment is ready for measurements, one hour of measurement time, half an hour buffer and half an hour tear down time for the equipment.

  • Short description of the planned measurement
  • What is the contribution of the measurement to the research field and the indent of use
  • List of necessary equipment (beside your measurement setup)
  • Radio frequencies used during the measurement
  • Number of devices to be measured
  • Approximate list of measurement runs (How many single measurement runs are planned?)
  • Planned duration/ time for the measurement (including preparation and tear down)
  • Physical dimensions of the measurement setup
    • Please provide pictures of approximate setup or device in advance
  • How should your measurement setup be used / worn during the measurements (attachment)?
  • Changed requirements for schedule if proposed schedule does not fit
  • Attending persons (not from IIS)
  • Synchronization procedure (e.g. ptp , ntp, event based)
  • A short biography of the principal investigator

Important Dates
